I’ve been making these small, colored pencil drawings based on night aerial views. Pretty fun to make something in a couple of hours.

Yesterday was my birthday and I had a great day filled with friends, good food and a lot of laughing. And also a little yard work and napping. One of my friends crafted this really clever happy birthday sign out of one of my drawings! Amazing!!!

Suburbia, gouache on paper, 4’ x6’, 2003 This piece is currently hanging the U.S. Embassy in the Republic of Georgia. I wish I had a better photo of it, but when I made it I guess didn’t think it would end up so far away.
